FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We hope that you enjoy your camp experience so much that you want to enroll in one of our weekly programs. Our Performance and Rock 101 programs consist of weekly private lessons combined with weekly group rehearsals for students ages 8 - 18 of all experience levels. Let us know if you’re interested in signing up after your camp and we’ll find a great program that fits your child perfectly!
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We look forward to having you in our camp and can’t wait to see you at School of Rock!
Q: Does my child need to bring a lunch or snack? Is any food provided throughout the day?
A: Each student needs to bring their own lunch and water bottle each day. We also suggest that students pack snacks for themselves throughout the day as well. We do order food on the last day.
Q: What does an average day of School of Rock camp look like? Do they play music ALL day long?
A: A typical day at camp involves fun games and activities, small group rehearsal sessions and group / individual lessons on their instrument. The first day of camp doesn’t involve as much instrument time as the rest of the week as we’re listening and learning about the songs as a group, song mapping and experiencing the music.
Q: Do the students need to have any musical experience or will you teach them at camp?
A: For every camp (other than Rock 101 and Rookies), we recommend that your student has at least some experience on their instrument. If they do not, no worries! We offer our Ramp to Camp program to get your student up to speed before camp. Give us a call to learn more.
Q: What ages of students attend camp? Will there be someone close to my child’s age?
A: Rookies camps are for ages 5-7, Rock 101 camps range from 8 - 12 years old and our Performance camps will range from 8 - 18 years old. We believe that students should gain experience learning from and interacting with students of different ages, backgrounds and abilities. We tend to always have a few students in each age bracket, but each camp is different.Q: Who are the Instructors/Staff?
A: Our instructors are real working, professional musicians. They are chosen not only based on their qualifications, but also how they can relate with our students. Every instructor has cleared a background check and is trained to work with students in the age range of the camp they’re directing.
Q: What happens if we can’t make it to camp one/multiple day(s)?
A: We have limited space in our camps and wait lists for some. We ask that your child attends all 5-days of camp as they’re a large part of the program. There are no partial refunds due to days missed.Q: What are some things NOT to bring to camp?
A: Please do not allow your child to bring any toys, trading cards, dolls, personal electronic devices, etc. Anything that might distract them should stay at home. We do not take responsibility for any broken or lost items.Contact us with any questions!
